We made this balance bike by taking the pedals and seat off of a toddler bike and covering it up with heavy tape and foam so the kids can put their feet flat on the ground. No sharp edges.
It looks rough, but it works great. We trained three of our kids on this by age 5/6, and now it's ready for yours.
