I purchased this 1970 Ford XL from the original owner who bought it in Saskatoon back in 1970. It is a numbers matching two owner car that gets everyone attention as you don't see them often. It's been in Saskatchewan for nearly 50 years. I had the 429 4 barrel engine rebuilt about 3 years ago (even though it didn't really need it) , I just wanted to wake it up a bit. I also had the gears from conventional 2:75's to limited slip 3:25 gears.
The original owner had it repainted back in the 80's, and the paint is holding up pretty well, But could benefit to new paint down the road The interior is original, the vinyl top is in good shape and it only has some small surface rust in a few places. I also have the original manifold and carb that were removed in the rebuild. I have all five original service manuals.
This is really a very cool car, it's a car I wouldn't hesitate to drive to Calgary and it will still blaze down the track in the 13 second rage. The car has 110,XXX miles on it with 10,000 miles put on it since the rebuild. This car is not a garage queen and is my summer daily driver, so if you are looking for a million dollar showcar..this is not it. It is just a very well taken care of survivor.
