The late Bob Millard (1947-2014) was a well-known Metis First Nation Artist from Fort Qu'Appelle. Born in Winnipeg, and adopted by an aunt in Fort Qu'Appelle, he grew up on the prairies. After losing partial use of one hand in an industrial accident, Bob attended Assiniboine Community College in Brandon, Manitoba as part of a retraining and therapy program. There, he was introduced to the world of art and use of pastels; discovering his talent. Some of his work has been presented to dignitaries - Pope John Paul II, Governor-General Jean Sauve, President Millerand of France, and a Saskatchewan sister province in China.
